Our History
Founded in 1993 with the sole intention of beating the 'Unattached Rider' fees, the MakeShift Bicycle Club of Minneapolis, Minnesota lived up to any and all expectations during it's inaugural season.
From then on heralded as the 'Ask nothing of you and do nothing for you' bike club, news of it's mediocrity soon spread, and in spite of this, it's membership doubled in 1996, blossoming to 4 riders.
In the present day, the MakeShift team still rolls on, thumbing it's nose at those fancy-schmantzy, daddy-bought-me-a-new-bike-for-Christmas bike clubs, toughing it out in the trenches, winning one for the little guy, eeking out every last over-used cliché to try and persevere in the road, track, cyclo-cross, and mountain disciplines that we all know and love so well. Ahem.
Though easily recognized in the past by our cheesy, air-brushed (sorry, Tom) jerseys, from now on look for MakeShift sporting their eye-fetching black & white jerseys, emblazoned with the bold graphic displayed above.
The old jerseys have been retired in a private ceremony, burned, and their ashes spread near a picture of Fausto Coppi. I'm sure going to miss them.
